perhaps not everyone on my lj friendslist is sick of seeing these bows yet. i have a LOT of sewing ahead of me, since i've got three colorways of the bows for skirts, about 4 other prints for skirts or dresses (cat heads, bikers, pigeons, and a floral print) and then 8-10 storebought prints also in the pile, jeez.

i was going to link them all here but since i'm planning to update my blog with various posts about silkscreening this week, it will all eventually be there instead.

Those are SO cute! Did you screenprint them? Is it a 2 step screenprint or what? I don't know but it's lovely!! Where did you even find stripes??? Damn...I dunno...but it's just so adorable! What are you planning to do with them? Skirts? To sell?

thanks :) yes, it's a two-step screenprint; the solid/fill-in is one screen and the outline is another screen. i'm going to make skirts even though i prefer dresses (because i made my halloween dress out of the same stripe in b&w and i think it was funky/unflattering at the curved seams). i'm probably not keeping all three forever (i want to finish the suite of three for my portfolio) but i'm so unconfident about selling... alice has expressed interest in the pink & brown, i might keep the other two, i dunno yet.

the stripe fabric is called "eliza" and the designer's name is jennifer paganelli. it's a really nice stripe that came in a lot of colors and if i weren't trying to save money i'd be frantically hoarding it. (also another reason i'm waffling about selling them -- i'd be too tempted to buy lots more fabric and make more.) that same designer has a lot of nice florals too.

Great job lining up the bows with the 2 steps. Isn't it terribly hard? Anyway, it looks marvelous.

they aren't perfectly lined up, actually, but i think it just makes it look more "vintage". thanks again :)
